Other Services Offered
Welcome to the faculty and staff training lab. Our mission is to provide faculty with quality and sound instructional design services, training and technical support. Our computer lab is equipped with 2 interactive boards and state of the art Windows base Pc's. The lab provides equipment and services available to faculty in all subject areas. We facilitate and foster the acquisition and further use of instructional technology to enhance traditional as well as online learning courses. The Lab regularly schedule training and workshop sessions in the use of technology and the pedagogy of technology. We also provide individualized assistance and consultation on various instructional technology issues.

DVD Duplication
Non-copyrighted DVDs can be duplicated for distribution. There is a total limit of five copies that can be made at once. Duplication takes 24 hours.
CD Duplication
Non-copyrighted CDs can be duplicated in our lab. There is a total limit of five copies that can be made at once. Duplication takes 24 hours.
Edit Video
The video that is in either digital format or can be easily digitally transferred can be:
- edited, removing segments that need to be removed
- and clean up poor lighting, framing, and sound
Additional audio can be added to the video. The resultant digital video can then be burned on to a DVD. Since there is no "normal” for editing, each job is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Transfer Video to Digital
Format Videotapes can be transferred over to a digital format, including DVDs.
The transferring of a copyrighted video is prohibited unless written permission from the copyright holder is received by email or letter and on file.
Transfer Audio
Audio that is in an analog format (cassette, for example) can be transferred over to a digital format. No copyrighted material will be transferred without written authorization from the copyright holder. Each transfer is done in real-time (1-hour tape takes at least 1 hour to transfer).
Scanning
Hard copies of handouts, older materials that are not in a digital format, along with other printed material can be scanned and converted into a digital format.
All material scanned must conform with copyright restrictions. Turn-around time varies according to work schedules and the amount of materials to be scanned.
This is primarily to convert forms into fillable PDFs.
Videotaping
Limited videotaping of class-related events can be made, either by the loaning of equipment to qualified personnel or videotaping by our personnel is available. Please inquire as to the details. Adequate notice is required. This includes lecture capture.
Clicker (Student Response System, Class Response System, etc.)
Available for use within your class, there is a kit of 30 "clickers" available for use. These units work with Microsoft PowerPoint for quizzes, polls and ascertaining what your students think about subjects.
These units do require a training session on integrating these with new or existing PowerPoint slides before use.
