The Ed.D. in Community College Leadership was a practice-focused 55-credit cohort-based online program with an annual 1-week virtual summer institute requirement that is designed to be completed by working professionals in 3 years. Recognizing the need for future leaders in the community college sector, this program aims to provide students with the essential skills and experiences needed so that they can take on a variety of leadership roles and positions. For example, graduates of this program may find success as mid-level and high-level administrators, teaching and learning center directors, leaders of student success initiatives, faculty and student services leaders, and more.
The Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership program is designed to develop educational technology leaders and innovators for school systems, teacher education programs, and the private and public sectors. The primary purpose of the Ed.D. program is to develop educational technology leaders whose work is characterized by scholarship, creativity, and innovation. This is a three-year cohort program where you work alongside leaders in education and our internationally recognized faculty. This online program requires one week of in-person classes each summer.
Master of Arts Degree in Educational Technology: designed to meet the needs of classroom teachers who want to apply technology to the learning process and/or for individuals wishing to develop leadership skills to serve as site based technology coordinators. The Master鈥檚 Degree in Educational Technology is intended to develop a broad range of technological expertise while at the same time focusing clearly on the new way that technology is changing how students and educators create and understand knowledge. The program is designed for beginners with little or no background in computing as well as for experienced computer users.
Master of Arts Degree in Educational Technology with School Library Media Specialist Certification: Includes the best of both worlds as students acquire the skills and competencies for the certification that will enable them to develop and coordinate school library media services while learning to apply multimedia to the instructional design process. Successfully completing the 36-credit program leads to a Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology and a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility for the School Library Media Specialist certification.

The Master of Arts in Music Education was a fully online program designed for advanced study in music and music education for teachers of music in public and private schools K-12. The program offered preparation for teaching at the university level and entry into a doctoral program in music education.
Master of Arts in Reading/Reading Specialist Certificate: The Department of Literacy Education prepares literacy specialists for careers in teaching, coaching, training, coordinating instructional programs, diagnosing and treating literacy problems, and developing curriculum. Literacy specialists may work one-on-one, in small groups, or with whole classes. They also focus on all aspects of literacy: reading, writing, listening, speaking, and viewing.
Elementary Education鈥擳eacher Certification, M.A.T.
This concentration within the Master of Arts in Teaching Program is designed for individuals who have completed a baccalaureate degree in the arts or sciences. Students who complete the certification part of this program will be eligible for Elementary (K-6) Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing endorsement on a New Jersey Instructional License. Successful completion of this program enables individuals to become effective educators by meeting the wider ranging needs of learners with vastly different experiences, language backgrounds, economic statuses, and cultures. The program prepares candidates to incorporate technology into their classroom activities, respond to varied learning styles, and keep pace with education trends and demands.
Secondary Education鈥擳eacher Certification, M.A.T.
This concentration within the Master of Arts in Teaching Program is designed for individuals who have completed a baccalaureate degree and who have proven themselves competent in their subject matter. Students who complete the certification part of this program will be eligible for a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing endorsement on a New Jersey Instructional License in their specific subject area.

The Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood program was designed to deepen the understanding and perfect the skills of teacher candidates who plan to work with children from birth through eight years of age in a variety of child-development and school settings. Emphasis is placed on current theory and research in child development and application to early childhood education practice. Those candidates who successfully complete this program will be eligible for the New Jersey Preschool through grade Three Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing.

Master of Arts in Teaching: Special Education鈥擜utism Specialization: This 33 credit master鈥檚 degree program includes the 21 credits required for Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) endorsement eligibility. The program is designed for those initially certified (Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing, CEAS, or Standard Certificate) in and NJDOE content area of education other than Special Education. This program aims to provide teachers with the expansive knowledge base needed to work with children who present with special learning needs, including children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and to meet their unique academic and social needs. The knowledge base includes a wide range of instructional methodologies, including universal design for learning, assistive technology, critical thinking skills, and the ability to modify the classroom to accommodate special needs children.
Master of Arts in Teaching: Special Education with New Pathways to Teaching in NJ Program: The 36-credit Master of Arts (MAT) in Teaching degree program includes a 21 credit Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) endorsement eligibility program. Degree candidates complete 12 NPTNJ credits + 24 Special Education credits, and pass a PRAXIS examination number 5354 Special Education: Core Knowledge and Applications

The Master of Arts in Urban Education (with a specialization in Educational Administration and Supervision) program is designed for P-12 setting personnel who hold a standard certification in their profession and who desire to become principals or supervisors. This unique degree specializes in preparing school leaders to foster the success of all students through engaging in effective instructional leadership, continuous professional learning, and collaborating and communicating with all stakeholders. The NJCU setting provides opportunities to develop culturally sustaining leadership and advocacy for equity for all in the P-12 setting.
Master of Science: National Security Studies: Become a member of an online learning cohort of security professionals taking innovative courses with applied lessons and casework that develop expertise in security leadership, protecting cyberspace, policy design and execution, decapitating advanced threats, and defending innocent victims. Courses are taught by faculty with prominent experience in the field including an Ambassador, military veterans and reservists, retired and active federal agents, law enforcement, and private sector executives.
Online Undergraduate Programs
Bachelor of Science in Fire Science: A Bachelor of Science degree is an increasingly valuable asset if you would like to advance in the fire science field.
NJCU offers the only university-based fire science program in New Jersey and one of a handful in the country. The curriculum is designed to develop outstanding career fire officers and fire service professionals.
: Students who minor in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies will learn about the complex geopolitical, economic, social, and environmental realities of the developing countries and territories to the south of the United States, with specific emphasis on the Caribbean region.
Minor in Women's and Gender Studies: Study key topics including diversity and equality, gender and sexuality, culture and representation, politics, activism, and social justice.

This program was discontinued by the New Jersey Department of Education effective Summer 2023 and is not accepting new admissions.
The Associate School Library Media Specialist (ASLMS) certification program was for those seeking only the ASLMS certification and not a graduate degree. The program consists of 8 courses offered completely online. Students are also required to complete a 150-hour internship as part of the requirements for the last class in the program. Students acquire the skills and competencies for the certification that will enable them to develop and coordinate school library media services while learning to apply multimedia to the instructional design process.
Certificate in Assistive Technology: This one year certificate program has a cross-disability perspective and is designed for anyone who works with persons who use assistive technology. The program is project-based, and the practicum provides a capstone experience.
The Early Childhood Specialized P-3 Alternate Route Program: This program is designed for candidates who have the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool through Grade Three Certificate of Eligibility, and who are required to complete the NJDOE approved 24-credit course of study. The courses focus on developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum and the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to be an effective early childhood educator. Candidates are observed in their workplace as a requirement of the program. A letter of completion or NJDOE program verification form can be obtained by the candidate upon completion of the courses.
New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey: For over 10 years more than 2,000 professionals have completed the New Pathways for Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) Program! NPTNJ is a partnership between 快猫破解版 and many of the New Jersey Community Colleges. Regulated and approved by the N.J. Department of Education, the NPTNJ offers a statewide alternate route teacher preparation program fully online designed to provide candidates with the knowledge, skills and strategies necessary to become successful teachers.
The Principal Certification program is designed for P-12 setting personnel who have at least five years of experience under a standard certification in their profession and/or possess a Supervisor Certification. The Principal Certification specializes in preparing experienced school leaders to foster the success of all students through engaging in effective instructional leadership, continuous professional learning, and collaborating and communicating with all stakeholders.
The 快猫破解版 School Nurse Certificate program is approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education and meets the requirements for the Educational Services Endorsement as a Certified School Nurse. The program is student-centered and tailored to meet the needs of the adult-learner. Faculty have experience in the field and work closely with school nurse leaders and administrators to craft a current and comprehensive curriculum for students. Incorporating leadership and research components, this graduate certificate program can be applied towards a Masters Degree in Health Sciences.
Special Education鈥擫earning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, Endorsement Eligibility Program: NJCU offers a 24-credit Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant certificate eligibility program for New Jersey teachers who are already certified to teach Special Education or an allied field and who have had at least two years of successful teaching experience under a Standard Certificate. A copy of the Standard certificate must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies when applying for the LDTC endorsement. A Master鈥檚 Degree in Special Education from an accredited university is required for admission to the LDTC endorsement eligibility program.
The Certificate in STEM Education is a rigorous four-course (12-credit) program that provides K-12 educators in all disciplines, school leaders and librarians with both the foundational STEM pedagogy, and the hands-on experience to be successful integrating STEM in their classrooms and schools both on-site and remotely. The Certificate is delivered as primarily an online, facilitated program with a required initial two-days of hands-on instruction and submission of a portfolio to evidence learning. The hands-on component will be offered online or regionally to broaden the reach of the program.
The Supervisor Certification program is designed for P-12 setting personnel who hold a master鈥檚 degree, have three years of full time experience under a standard certification in their profession, and who desire to become a supervisor in their field. This certification specializes in preparing students with the skills, knowledge, and dispositions for effective supervision of instruction and staff supervision.
Undergraduate and Minor Certificates
NJCU offers the following online undergraduate and minor certificate programs:
Computer and Information Systems (Minor): The Computer and Information Systems Minor provides students with the skills necessary to become competent "end users" of computers and applications. Courses in this minor cover business applications, system design and analysis, telecommunications and more. Students in the widest range of majors and disciplines can benefit from the ability to apply the skills gained in this program in most professional environments as well as in personal computer use.
Geographic Information Science Certificate: The online GIS Certificate aims to advance the geospatial tools & technology skill-set of professionals currently working in fields that use geospatial technologies. It is also an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to revamp their current career, earn continuing-education or teaching credits, or simply learn new and marketable skills.
