New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) - Elementary Education 

Admissions Requirements

  1. A completed graduate application form, including a $55 non-refundable application fee
  2. Official transcripts from all previous U.S. colleges attended or official  course-by-course evaluation of any foreign transcripts. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher from a bachelor's or master's degree program. 
  3. A copy of a regular New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility in Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6 (temporary/limited CE not acceptable) (a list of your certifications can be downloaded on )*
  4. Minimum GPA of a 3.0 or higher (even if you already hold a state issued CE)
  5. A letter from the hiring manager or administrator on letterhead from your school or school district indicating that the school or school district will enroll you in the provisional teacher program and verifies that you are a fulltime lead teacher of record.
  6. 50 hour Introduction to Teaching course verification form. NJCU offers this course through Adult and Continuing Education. You can  for the course through NJCU.
