College of Education Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe College of Education is pleased to announce the establishment of the Distinguished Alumni Awards. This award will honor the outstanding achievements and contributions of our alumni who have made a significant impact on schools and communities as teachers, administrators, clinical mental health counselors, or educational services personnel (school counselors, school library media specialists, reading specialists, school psychologists, or learning disabilities teacher-consultants). Award winners will be celebrated at a special recognition event on April 28, 2025, at 5:00 pm in Hepburn Hall 202 on NJCU鈥檚 main campus.
Our college's namesake, Dr. Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe, inspires the creation of this award. Throughout her life, Dr. Wolfe challenged racial and gender barriers and helped reform education. Among her many achievements, she served as Chief of Education for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor and helped to shape legislation that originated Head Start, financial aid, community colleges, and modern vocational education. We celebrate those who continue Dr. Wolfe's work to provide equitable access to education and who exemplify our mission to prepare educators to empower every student.
