Housing is available to all students. Students can enjoy the opportunity to experience campus life, meet new people and learn in a multicultural environment outside the classroom. The residences are conveniently located close to classes, the library, the fitness center, and campus events. Why live on campus?

Residence halls are always staffed and require card access. Plus, the Department of Public Safety provides 24-hour campus security in the form of patrols and campus escort services. - Get a built-in social network

The Student Residences offer Wi-Fi, 24 hour security, on-site laundry, study rooms and computer rooms. Campus housing residents are invited to participate in a variety of recreational programs offered by the Office of Residence Life.

Living Costs (2023-2024)
- One room for two persons (Vodra Hall) + mandatory meal plan: about US$7,300
- One room for two persons (West Campus) + mandatory meal plan: about US$8,200
Meal Plans
A meal plan is required for all students living on campus. International Students receive a 鈥淕6鈥 meal plan which offers 50% on campus meals and 50% to be used for ordering food delivery through Grubhub
How to Apply for Housing
- Note: The $150 housing deposit is waived for international students
- Note: Answer 鈥測es鈥 to 鈥渄id you complete a FAFSA?鈥 This does not apply to international students.
Move-in
The International Office will update you on each semester's move-in dates. Please let us know your arrival plans in advance.
Off-campus housing
NJCU cannot assist you with finding housing outside of the university. Like any major city, Jersey City has good and bad areas. Although you are free to live anywhere, we strongly suggest that you live on campus during your first year so that you have time to learn about the Jersey City region.
