The Marketing Department is a standout program in the NJCU School of Business. The NJCU Marketing Department is aligned with the career competencies employers value most in new hires, offering a comprehensive program focused on long-term student success.

Completion of the Marketing major prepares students for careers in marketing and related fields such as public relations, integrated marketing communication, market research, marketing data analytics, digital marketing, advertising, and more. This includes an in-house internship placement program for hands-on job experience and invitations to numerous on-campus and on-location Marketing events where students can build their professional network. 鈥淭he Battle of the Brains competition exposed us to a unique academic and networking experience that challenged our critical thinking and encouraged us to be comfortable being uncomfortable,鈥 said Rivera. 鈥淚t was such an unforgettable week.鈥

Teams engaged in a 24-hour 鈥渉ackaton鈥 to develop a solution based on the business challenge presented. Solutions were expected to include social engagement tools, platforms, strategies, website and mobile app considerations, a marketing plan with collateral, a go-to-market strategy for technology solutions, and more. The teams were challenged to incorporate design, policy, business, and STEM components into their business solution.

鈥淚 was honored to represent NJCU at HSI Battle of the Brains, and always grateful for the opportunities to grow, and learn from my peers through new experiences at NJCU,鈥 said Borjas. 鈥淚 enjoyed the challenge and working together with my teammates.鈥
