Admission Requirements
Master of Arts in Urban Education with ESL Specialization or Bilingual/Bicultural Specialization
- GPA of 3.0 from the last completed degree or certification program.
- Passing scores on the ACTFL Language Proficiency tests as mandated by the NJDOE.
- A 250-500 word essay discussing your goals and objectives for pursuing admission to the program to which you are applying.
- Official transcripts from all previous U.S. colleges attended or official course-by-course evaluation of any foreign transcripts*.
- Two letters of recommendation from professional references.
- Additional documents as required on the admission application form.
Master of Arts in Urban Education with ESL Specialization and Alternate Route Ce program
- A completed graduate application form, including the application fee.
- A 250-500 word essay discussing your goals and objectives for pursuing admission to the program to which you are applying.
- Official transcripts from all previous U.S. colleges attended or official course-by-course evaluation of any foreign transcripts*.
- A copy of regular CE in ESL (temporary CE not acceptable). A list of your certifications can be downloaded on ).
- Employment verification letter to provide a proof of full-time employment as a lead teacher in K-12 ESL classroom setting.
- 50 hour Introduction to Teaching K-12 course verification form. Contact the Adult and Continuing Education department for more information about the 50 Hour Course).
