Reed Carroll has served as an Associate Professor of Biology at 快猫破解版 since 2013. Prior to joining the faculty at NJCU, he was an Associate Professor in the Dominick P. Purpura Department of Neuroscience at Albert Einstein College for Medicine.
Research in the Carroll lab centers on the regulation of inhibitory synapses in the brain. Investigations have focused on the regulation of GABAergic synapses by CaMKII. More recent studies have investigated how cellular autophagy may be linked to the regulation of inhibitory synaptic receptors. Understanding from these studies may provide insight into disorders associated with altered excitation/inhibition balances including autism and epilepsy.
At NJCU, Dr. Carroll has been involved in developing programs focused on enhancing student success through promoting career readiness, including designing and implementing career preparation courses, workshops, and student mentoring programs.
