Acebo and Greenberg in Summer 2024

鈥淚 am heartbroken by the passing of my friend and partner in service, Gary Greenberg. As the executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson County, Gary was a tireless advocate for our youth, a leader of unwavering integrity, and a beacon of hope for so many in our community for more than a half century.

Gary was one of the first people I asked to serve on our Community Advisory Council because I knew his wisdom, passion, and deep commitment to our city would help guide our work. Just last summer, we stood side by side as we enthusiastically launched new initiatives to uplift and empower our young people鈥攅fforts that will continue to bear fruit because of the foundation he helped lay.

His impact will live on in the lives he changed, the opportunities he created, and the spirit of service he embodied. My heart is with his family, loved ones, and all those who were fortunate enough to know and work alongside him.

Rest in power, my friend. Your work continues.鈥
