Dear Members of the NJCU Family,

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah 鈥 the Jewish New Year 鈥 which is celebrated beginning at sundown tonight, September 15, and lasting through September 17, and Yom Kippur 鈥 the Day of Atonement 鈥攚hich occurs next week from September 24-25, we join together to wish our Jewish NJCU family members a Shanah tovah and Gmar tov

In an incredibly diverse community, our Jewish community members bring a proud heritage and faithful tradition to our beloved mission every day. Thank you for helping to breathe life into our collective purpose, one that manifests in the progress and opportunity seized by our students on our campus every day.

Our university鈥檚 motto, 鈥渆nter to learn, exit to serve鈥 can find its roots in the central principle that defines the powerful history of a great people. Together, let us continue our work to deliver the promise of tzedakah 鈥 making the world a fair and more just place 鈥 by heeding with unrelenting focus the spirit of tikkun olam 鈥 repairing the world.

We see you, we learn from and with you, and I鈥檓 grateful to stand with you.
