JERSEY CITY, N.J. | The work of several (NJCU) alumni from the Music, Dance, and Theatre Department were recently on display in a new Off-Broadway production entitled 鈥淎llerleirauh鈥 which debuted this March at the Alvin Ailey Theater in Midtown.
The musical was co-written by Angela (Iannacone) Masi 鈥14 (M.M. in Music Performance: Classical Voice) and Dillon Feldman 鈥16 (B.A. in Music) over the last three years. The show included the work of several alumni, including Shari Gill 鈥15 and Zoila Pinto 鈥13 on stage, Catriona Rubenis-Stevens 鈥17 (B.A. in Music - Music Theatre and Minor in Media Arts) as director and Natasha Gonzales 鈥15 (B.A. in Music) as music director.
鈥淎llerleirauh鈥 is a take on a Grimm fairytale revolving around a single mother and her blind daughter, each trying to overcome grief and realize her own strength. The show deals with managing anxiety, risking failure to find success, and the power of a supportive community.

Zoila Pinto 鈥13
Pinto (The Lady/Laundress) has previous theater credits that include Lancelot in "Camelot" with Bookworm Theatrics, Alaura Kingsley/Carla Haywood in "City of Angels", Baker's Wife in "Into the Woods" and Hope Harcourt in "Anything Goes" at NJCU.
Shari Gill 鈥15
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Shari Gill has been singing and performing for
as long as she can remember. She has completed two gospel tours in France for their festival 鈥淢ostly Gospel,鈥 one as a solo artist, the other in a group. She is a regular soloist at Riverside Church for their 鈥淚nspirational Choir,鈥 and 鈥淢iddle Collegiate Church Gospel Choir鈥. She has been a backup singer for Tituss Burgess, Macy Gray, and The Dough Boys.
Among her show credits include Officer Barrel/Miss Pennywise in 鈥淯rinetown鈥, Ronette in 鈥淟ittle Shop of Horrors鈥, Gary Coleman in鈥 Avenue Q鈥, BJ in 鈥淪mokey Joe鈥檚 Cafe鈥, Mama Noah in 鈥淐hildren of Eden鈥, Motormouth Maybelle in 鈥淗airspray鈥, Maria in 鈥淧orgy & Bess鈥 (the musical/concert version), Dionne in 鈥淗air鈥, and Ismene in "The Gospel At Colonus.鈥
Dillon Feldman 鈥16 (composer)
Dillon's original musical, 鈥淪iren鈥, held a 29-hour reading in New York, N.Y. in April 2022. His music has been performed in concert at Green Room 42 and 54 Below.
Angela (Iannacone) Masi 鈥14 (writer/actor/producer)
Masi is an actor, director and producer whose work has been seen up and down the East Coast. Allerleirauh marks her debut as a playwright. She is delighted and humbled to be working with many of her colleagues from her years at NJCU in this new endeavor. Directing credits include 鈥淎 Man of No Importance鈥 (Off-Broadway), 鈥淭he Complete Works of William Shakespeare鈥 (Abridged) [Revised] (tour), and 鈥淐amelot鈥 (Springville Center for the Arts Resident Director). Acting credits include Maria in 鈥淭he Sound of Music鈥, Eve in 鈥淐hildren of Eden鈥 and Sally in 鈥淵ou鈥檙e A Good Man, Charlie Brown鈥.
