Donna Breault MLK2023-6990

Dear Members of the NJCU Community:

This week and next, I will continue providing a series of updates regarding changes in Academic Affairs. These changes respond to our fiscal crisis and position us to focus more clearly upon our mission as a minority-serving institution committed to supporting our unique student population.

These changes reflect a reduction in administrative layers and renewed focus on student success and retention.

If you missed the previous announcements, they can be found on our new Academic Affairs Communications webpage.

Previous updates included:

Today's update will outline new and continuing roles and responsibilities in our academic units.

As we have seen changes in academic affairs, some people have stepped into roles with expanded responsibilities. Others continue to do the amazing work they were doing prior to the organizational changes in the division being implemented.

In some cases, expanded roles are temporary as we address the financial constraints of FY23. For example, we previously had five individuals supporting Global Initiatives. Currently, Craig Katz has absorbed that work. We will be seeking individuals to support these efforts, including those who will be training as Designated School Officials (DSO).

I sincerely appreciate how each of the following colleagues have stepped up to support our efforts.

Sincerely,

Donna Adair Breault, Ph.D.
Acting Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs
