JERSEY CITY, N.J. | In March 2022, (NJCU) announced a partnership with 鈥 a national online job placement and networking platform for first-generation college students 鈥 to enhance its career access support for first generation college students, which make up 54 percent of the institution鈥檚 undergraduate population.
This partnership between NJCU and CareerSpring is featured in a nearly four-minute segment on on NJ PBS Thirteen. Schaffler, the NJ Spotlight News Business Correspondent, interviewed , Career Services Director of NJCU鈥檚 School of Business, on a program entitled 鈥淚n Focus: State of the Labor Market鈥, which aired on June 4.
During the interview, Schaffler and Iannuzzi discuss why NJCU has made it a priority to help first-generation college students enter the workforce, the partnership with CareerSpring, the progress of the partnership after the first semester, 滨补苍苍耻锄锄颈鈥檚 optimism about the job market the Class of 2022 is entering, and NJCU鈥檚 success in graduating first-gen students at a rate higher than the national average.
