Twenty NJCU Marketing undergraduate students, along with Dr. Kathleen Rennie and adjunct professors Ashley Manz and Irene Maslowski, attended the launch of a new book, Diverse Voices: Profiles in Leadership, on December 4 at the Twitter offices in Manhattan. The PRSA Foundation and Museum of PR developed the book to help communication leaders, professionals and students better understand the challenges faced by minorities in communication-related fields.
The event included a COO panel discussion featuring contributors to the book, a presentation on diversity and inclusion best practices at Twitter, and networking opportunities with contributors of the book. Proceeds from the book go to the PRSA Foundation, an independent nonprofit that helps directly and positively impact lives through initiatives designed to jump-start careers of promising students from diverse backgrounds including grants, scholarships, research and awareness campaigns.
