NJCU business students鈥 research projects were highlighted during the NJCU School of Business Third Annual Business Research Showcase, hosted last month in the School鈥檚 Skyline Room.
Students, faculty and staff attended the event, which drew 32 student participants, with 22 presentations in two categories: six podium presentations and 16 poster presentations. The winners in each category received gift, cards along with certificates acknowledging their first, second, or third-place finish. All participants in the competition received appreciation certificates.
The competition was judged by a panel of judges from the Economics, Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing Departments, as well as professional staff and visiting scholars.
鈥淲e have really come a long way in the progress made with NJCU鈥檚 Business Student Research Showcase,鈥 said Michael Bell, Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department. 鈥淭he sophistication and professionalism of the student product, in both the oral and podium competition, was at a very high level this year, and will continue to increase.鈥
During the awards ceremony, Dr. Kathleen Rennie, a professor in the Marketing Department, was recognized as the Student Research Mentor of the Year.
鈥淲e are excited to have this third event at the School of Business. After moving to Harborside, the faculty, staff, and students are actively participating in helping to enhance the academic culture by building a positive student research tradition with both student and faculty engagement at NJCU,鈥 said EunSu Lee, chair of the standing committee on Business and Economics Research.
鈥淲e are so proud of our students and their hard work, as we continue to build and expand the Research Showcase,鈥 said Dr. Bernard McSherry, Founding Dean of the School of Business. 鈥淚鈥檇 like to thank all the participants, including the committee members who organized this event.鈥
