NJCU Joins New Coalition to Promote Business Growth in Hudson County

University鈥檚 New Jersey Small Business Development Center is a founding partner of the Hudson County Consortium for Business Growth

The New Jersey Small Business Development Center at 快猫破解版 is a founding partner in a new coalition of business, civic, and education groups that have formed the Hudson County Consortium for Business Growth.

The Hudson County Consortium intends to support business growth and development through the design, plan, and coordinated delivery of educational programs to better serve entrepreneurs, start-ups, early stage, and mature businesses.

In addition to NJCU鈥檚 Small Business Development Center, the other founding partners are: the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce; Hudson County Community College, Center for Business and Industry; Hudson County Economic Development Corporation, and the Hudson County Office of Business Opportunity.

The Consortium, which will provide access to educational programs throughout Hudson County, also intends to support the Hudson County Office of Business Opportunity in its efforts to assist businesses in becoming eligible for certifications and in gaining access to procurement opportunities at the county, state, and federal levels, as well as in the private sector.

鈥淲e are delighted that NJCU is a part of the new Consortium. I firmly believe this coalition will successfully leverage all available strengths and resources to promote business success through education,鈥 said Sue Henderson, NJCU President.

鈥淭he Consortium鈥檚 combined efforts will lead to a better allocation of organizational funding and staffing resources, more efficient and effective outreach, and access to diverse and underserved business communities,鈥 said Gail Marquis, Regional Director of the Small Business Development Center. Marquis is also Director of the Business Development Incubator (BDI) at the NJCU School of Business and Director of Community Outreach for the School of Business.

The Hudson County Consortium鈥檚 first initiative was the recent launch of spring 2018 educational programs that include classes in basic financial management, accounting fundamentals, QuickBooks, and Excel for business and finance professionals. Spring classes, which began in March, will continue through June and are open to the public.
