The Gothic Times has recently distinguished itself and NJCU with two notable awards. The student newspaper鈥檚 staff took second-place in Editorial Writing, from the New Jersey Press Association, in a contest involving university and college publications from around the state.
In addition, Monica Sarmiento, Editor-in-Chief of The Gothic Times, won an Honorable Mention in the 鈥淚ron Reporter Contest鈥 hosted by the College Media Association in Manhattan. Sarmiento made her mark in a competition in which student reporters from around the country had less than 48 hours to produce an original article in New York City.
