Aim Is to Advance Opportunity in Higher Education
¿ìèÆƽâ°æ (NJCU) will host a Technical Assistance Workshop, May 23-24, 2018, supported by the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity. The free workshop will be held at the NJCU School of Business, 200 Hudson Street, Harborside Plaza 2 in Jersey City.
NJCU President Sue Henderson and Provost and Senior Vice President Daniel J. Julius will open the program. Federal, state, and city officials will also speak.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend this event for information on available opportunities for grants, contracts, infrastructure enhancement, sustainability, STEM education, human capital and workforce development, and civilian career opportunities.
Federal officials and representatives, and prime and small business contractors will provide information to faculty, staff, and administrators about research, development, STEM, and human capital and workforce development activities within the federal agencies. A comprehensive suite of recommendations to develop and enhance existing partnerships will also be offered.
The Technical Assistance Workshop aims to discuss critical initiatives and government’s continued support of Executive Order 13532 to advance the development of the nation’s full potential and to advance equal opportunity in higher education.
The Technical Assistance Workshop further focuses on the participation by Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) in federally-sponsored programs, with particular emphasis on enhancing institutional infrastructure and facilitating planning, development, and the use of new technologies to ensure the goal of long-term viability and enhancement of these institutions as a major resource for the national defense mission.
