In the final analysis, the purpose of a college education is to give students the wherewithal to thrive in the future—the exact nature of which is unknown to us all. We know that certain skills can quickly become obsolete.

In Fictive Kinship, a solo exhibit inspired by the death of Sandra Bland, visual artist Kimberly Mayhorn used
paintings, works on paper, installation, and a two-channel video to explore kinship or social bonding between
unrelated black women.
